OSPD 4011-3P is ORBITAL's catalogue designation for a three-phase Type 2 / Class II intelligent surge protective device: three plug-in iSPD20C modules (each Uc 275 V, Imax 40 kA, In 20 kA) combined with a separate iSPD-M monitoring module on a common DIN-rail base. The system targets TT low-voltage distribution with front L1–L3, N, PE terminations and full-time supervision.

The monitoring module provides real-time temperature per pole, audible alarm when limits are exceeded, lightning strike counting (LCD 0–999), RS485 wired communication for SCADA/BMS, and status channels for grounding, MCB and remote contacts. MOV modules use mechanical end-of-life indication (green OK / red replace).

Mounting
Mount OSPD 4011-3P on a 35 mm symmetrical DIN rail inside the switchgear (indoor, IP20). Engage the module clips fully; leave working space in front of the iSPD-M display and buttons for commissioning.
Power & conductors
Connect L1, L2, L3, N and PE per the terminal layout. Use conductors within the published range (4–25 mm² multi-core or 4–35 mm² single-core as listed). Supply the monitoring module from a suitable 230 V control circuit per local rules.
RS485 & signals
Route RS485+ / RS485− as a twisted pair away from power conductors. Terminate per network topology. Configure remote monitoring and alarm outputs in line with the panel PLC/BMS design.
Backup protection & maintenance
Size upstream MCB/gG per coordination study (datasheet recommends 125 A gL class backup fuse context for the MOV modules). Periodically verify LCD counts, temperature readouts, buzzer self-test, and replace any module showing red end-of-life.
